Optical Showlink Transcoder Gen3
The third generation of our popular signal converter is more powerful and popular than ever. Primarily used in the laser light show industry, The Transcoder simultaneously converts a digital light-pipe to a DB25 ILDA-compatible analog signal, and an analog ILDA-compatible input to light-pipe output. A built in geometric correction utility allows the user to adapt the geometry of the analog outputs to compensate for challenging projection angles and screen configurations. DMX512 and MIDI I/O, channel mapping, presets, front panel display and menuing along with and serial control make this 1U rackmountable device a "must have" item for any serious laser professional. Some customers like to use them simply to transmit signals across a fiber optic cable, and decode them on the other end. There are over 100 transcoders out in the field, and those who use them, love them!
Suggested uses:
- Provide geometric and color correction for ADAT style sources, eliminating PCs from playback-only installations.
- Record ILDA-Compatible analog signals to an ADAT or Hard Drive recorder such as the Alesis HD24 or Fostex D2424
- Eliminate ground loops and long DB25 cables by sending signals across an inexpensive optical cable.
- Access presets for multiple correction profiles from various source materials or for desired projection devices.
- Sub-encoding of additional channels to get X,Y,R,G,B, U1, U2, U3, DMX, Midi, Shutter, L&R Audio all on 8 channels and backwards compliant with existing ADAT standards.
